Mirko Grillini | the biography

This step not only allowed him to improve his performances but it made him realize how much he loved the industry.

Mirko was born in Italy and arrived in Australia in 1992.

His first approach to the entertainment industry was through modelling at the tender age of 16, parading for some well known Italian labels and showcasing in Milan, Florence and London, working in restaurants between gigs.

Upon his arrival in Australia and with a very little understanding of the English language, Mirko joined a talent agency to explore life on set as extra. He quickly fell in love with the “film world” but the language barrier was too thick to pursue a career in front of a camera so he strived to reach a management position in hospitality, participating to many training and management courses both privately and through his workplaces (E.g.:  Stamford, Hyatt..).

In 1997, Mirko found use of an ancient skill his grandmother taught him: the art of making pasta.  He had an opportunity to begin small hands on courses which quickly became extremely popular, attracting the attention of TV channels such as Seven network, SBS, ABC Asia Pacific and many live shows all over Australia and New Zealand.

Having little understanding of show business and wanting to improve his theatrical abilities, Mirko joined the Actor’s Conservatory and committed to a full graduation (Advance Diploma of Stage and Screen Acting).  This step not only allowed him to improve his performances but it made him realize how much he loved the industry.  His mind was set and the pursue to a career as actor/director begun.

Along the way Mirko embraced the industry and expanded his skills into writing and producing, living his life between Australia and Los Angeles, building a portfolio of over 100 film productions, designing with his wife Amanda, pilots for lifestyle shows, short films and writing 3 screenplays while doing further courses to understand more about film production.
